Japanese motives 2011-2017

I took courses in Chinese painting at the Museum of East Asian Antiques (Östasiatiska Museet) in Stockholm during the period 2009-2011. I got inspiration from old Chinese masters and used it for my style of painting.  I wanted to use the idea of black ink from that experience which I did for my Snowberries series. After more excercise and trials I did a series with bird and flower motives. The technique is chinese ink on rice paper which I glue on to a second sheet to reinforce it and make it less delicate. I try to give the birds an individual character of their own, just like I believe they have.
